This was a sweet story and Sarra was a heroine that you can relate to. It does not matter in what time you live in, you want to know that the person you plan to spend your life with loves you for you.

I picked up this book because I had read Labor of Love, I wanted to see where the series began. This story was more than I expected it to be. It showed a young woman who not only guards her heart but protects the people who depend on her in a world when men are supposed to be the ones taking care of them. She has a kind heart, she makes some fool choices but who does not when faced with matters of the heart?

the journey that Sarra and Cedric both have to go on in order to discover the truth is one that transcends time. It was a well written story, with likable characters and a well developed plot. I will be reading this again someday.

The book started well enough. But then the ruse just kept going and going and going and going, until I lost respect for both the hero and heroine. I suppose the lesson here is that writers should not milk a story line until it drags down the plot. An okay read I suppose.
I enjoyed the series. Well written and set in a time period I enjoy reading about.
Life for these characters is a bit challenging and will keep you guessing.
Plot was bland, heroine was annoying. Hero wasn't all that likable. Some of the action sequences were hard to follow/didn't make sense.

But if you're looking for a light read for $0.99 this can do the job.
Loved, Loved, Loved this book! Great Historical Fiction. I also loved the spiritual thread. Eventually the truth will always come out. This is the first book in a series and I cannot wait to read the other books in this great series.
I think I must be super picky or something because the previous reviews were all really great. The writing was well done and I enjoyed the writing style of the author, but the heroine was super annoying and completely ruined the story for me. I won't spoil it with details but will just say that she is one of those heroines that is told repeatedly that what she is doing might not be the best course of action, yet she dithers back and forth with "Well, maybe they are right"....but then goes ahead and does the same stupid things all over again. Not only is she warned ahead of time, repeatedly, but she is placed in the exact same circumstance TWICE due to her pig-headedness. Seriously??? I mean if someone warns you once that you might be wrong about something and you go ahead and ignore their advice which lands you in hot water, then wouldn't you know not to do the EXACT SAME THING again? Yet this heroine is obviously missing a few brain cells because she just doesn't learn. To top that off, the book repeatedly references God's word, and the herione states that reading God's word means so much to her, yet she only very briefly questions her actions to continue to lie, once again repeatedly, to the hero of the story. She seems like a hypocritical dolt to me and I did not like her at all. I wanted the hero to run away screaming.
This love story entwined my thoughts and heart. I love reliving through the characters the ups and downs as well as the harshness of times. Innocent in so many ways, I experience the terrors and joy of the times I love without the peril. Forever a romantic at heart. Do yourself a favor and journey back to be immersed in the long ago times.
I really enjoyed reading this book, which surprised me because I've never been one to like reading an historical. But this story captured my attention, and kept me turning the pages to see what happened next. The characters were very likable, and the description of the area, the language used, and the people were translated very well, allowing me to see a vision of everything and everyone as I read. The plot was very well thought out from beginning to end by the author. This love story offers clean romance, adventure, and fun reading through out the book. I would definitely recommend it!
